This week I learned that my sweet napping buddy, Beans, may have alternative motives to nap times. I woke to find her intently looking at me, as if waiting on something that I just could not understand. I rose and went after a drink and when I came back around to the room, I found her all cozy in my favorite afghan. So now I wonder, is it me she likes to nap with or is she really just there for the cozy blankets and she secretly wants me out of the way? I also think she may just be looking for photo ops??

This weekend I finished the book, Strangers In Time by David Baldacci. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Set in London in the 1940s during the last year of World War II, I wondered if there would be anything “new” or interesting that could be written about. I have read a lot of books set in this time period (and if honest with myself, will likely read a lot more), but I always wonder before beginning if it will be much of the same. I was so pleasantly surprised to be thrown into story of the three main characters: 👦🏻Charlie, a troubled orphaned teen from the east end, 👱🏼♀️Molly, a teen from the west end returning to London, and 👨🏼🦳Ignatius, a widowed bookshop owner living midway between the two teens. The book centered greatly on the the theme of the hardships of war, but more so hope and resilience that can be found in family that is formed between unlikely strangers in a time when family is most needed. The book is beautifully written with Baldacci’s known precise storytelling that draws the reader into the time period and leaves you with a very clear image of what you are reading and makes you believe that you know these characters on a very intimate level. I shared the book cover last week, but I shall share it again!
Currently reading, Hazel Says No by Jessica Berger Gross… not so sure about this one yet, but I will let you know! And speaking of books, I have cleared out the bookshelves and donated another very sizable amount to make some space. My husband and I are planning a few days of traveling around Florida this summer to visit used and unique bookshops while our youngest daughter is away at camp! I also would like to add a thank you to my husband, Alex, for the neat little book embosser so I can label all my “always keep” books :)

My husband also wins another award this week for the addition of my tea shelf in our kitchen. What would a weekend be without a “honey do” project? He made it exactly how I wanted and I can not wait to add a few more jars! I tried a new tea this week, a Passion Tea, that I think was great and will definitely try iced next time!

I am continuing on with the same crochet blanket projects and will update next week, along with new little animal friends…hope to update these soon, as well…here is the beginning stage :). I also made a quick little phone case, but decided that it would instead become my end table eyeglass case (because I am constantly knocking them off the table when reaching for my tea cup!).

We are wrapping up our homeschool year and will be done in the next few days!! Such a bittersweet thing, only two years left before I am no longer a homeschool mom. This week, we will be making our final selections for courses next year. I will update with our chosen texts soon! We are very much looking forward to our summer break!
It is now time to finish up some household tasks before beginning my work week, so until next time…stay cozy!
